Life’s a beach (continued)

We really didn’t have “beach weather” the first few days of our vacation but we made the most of it. Tuesday we ditched the beach and headed inland to check out a local winery, La Belle Amie Vineyard. They make wine from their muscadine grapes and they also blend wine from purchased juice. The wine is sweeter than our usual choices but we did manage to come home with a couple of bottles.

Grapes in the making

Wednesday was finally a beach day! We took total advantage (my skin is still peeling). We cabbed it to Murrell’s Inlet Wednesday evening to scope out the Marsh Walk and eat Thai food at the Blue Elephant, a place not to miss according to locals. We really weren’t sure exactly where the restaurant was but we had an address. After walking for about a mile we found it! Only to discover it was closed. UGH. So it was back to Dave’s Dockside for dinner, I highly recommend the shrimp and crab bisque!

As close as we could get to eating there...

Only at the beach.

We wandered up and down the Marsh Walk, enjoying an almost full moon. I don’t have much luck photographing the moon but I still keep trying.

We started Thursday with a hearty breakfast at Lulu's Cafe
Just a portion of a mural spray painted on the side of the restaurant.
The artist's signature.

Then I headed out to the local outdoor shopping area (after a much needed manicure/pedicure) to pick up a few things for the "wedding weekend". Unfortunately during mid shopping the skies opened up and I got drenched but successfully checked everything off my list.

Friday we loaded up the rental car and drove six hours to Atlanta for wedding festivities. More to come on that…
